Objective:
- To improve the sexual and reproductive health status of female sex workers (FSWs) from poor, marginalized communities by creating positive role models from among the FSWs to counsel their peers on SRHR through community-based out reach.
Expected results/output:
- Train 10 FSWs as community outreach workers and 7 mobilize as counsellors.
- Improved knowledge on sexual and reproductive and their rights among 1000 FSWs.
- Improved healthy behaviors and utilization of SRH services among 500 FSW.
- Demonstrated proof of concept of community based outreach of using FSWs as counsellors
- Key stakeholders have shown interest and commitment for scale-up.
Expected outcomes:
- Research outcomes disseminated, published paper in national and international journals
- Continual improvement of SRH status of FSWs with expanded programming from the government and partner organizations.
